Mohd Syeed Teeli, a proud alumnus of Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati, holds a master's in Fine Arts. His dedication and talent were recognized when he was awarded the Gold Medal at Kashmir University.
In 2019, while pursuing his Master of Fine Arts, he founded World Through Art (WTA) at Shantiniketan. This initiative was born out of his belief in the power of art to transcend boundaries and foster global unity.
WTA is not just an organization; it's a movement. It stands for the values of 'Home, Family, and Citizenship'. It is a global, city-independent entity with a membership-based cooperation model. Through WTA, Syeed aims to promote art as a universal language and a tool for social change.

The Nine Sentiments of Emotional Life or 9 Rasas:

Rasa” means “essence, soul, feeling” in Indian aesthetics. These nine rasas, or emotional states, are central to the human experience and creative expression in traditional Indian literature. Emotional States in Indian Aesthetics. They are:

  1. Shringara (Love/Beauty): This rasa embodies love, attraction, and beauty. It can be romantic, sensual, or spiritual and is often associated with the divine love between Radha and Krishna in Hindu mythology.
  2. Hasya (Laughter): Hasya represents humor and laughter, encompassing joy, amusement, and lightheartedness. It is commonly found in comedic works and brings people together through shared laughter.
  3. Karuna (Sorrow): Karuna embodies empathy, compassion, and sadness. It evokes feelings of pity, sorrow, and sympathy, often seen in tragic or melancholic works.
  4. Raudra (Anger): Raudra is the sentiment of anger, rage, and violence. It can be intense and fiery, often associated with stories of conflict and war.
  5. Veera (Heroism): Veera symbolizes bravery, courage, and valor. It represents virtues like strength, bravery, and honor. Veera epitomizes bravery, courage, and valor in tales of heroism and adventure.
  6. Bhayanaka (Fear): Bhayanaka is the sentiment of fear, terror, and anxiety. It can be intense and unsettling, often associated with horror and suspenseful works.
  7. Bibhatsa (Disgust): Bibhatsa represents disgust, revulsion, and aversion. It is visceral and unpleasant, frequently found in works exploring themes of decay and disease.
  8. Adbhuta (Wonder): Adbhuta is full of wonder, amazement, and astonishment. It is often associated with the extraordinary and paranormal and inspires awe, surprise, and curiosity.
  9. Shanta (Peace): Shanta embodies peace, tranquility, and serenity. It represents a sense of calm and contentment, often found in works that evoke harmony and balance.

Artist Color Palette and Art Style Inspired by the Nine Rasas:

  • Shringara (Love/Beauty). Soft pinks, reds, and golds.  Think of romantic sunsets, blooming flowers, and delicate lace.
  • Hasya (Laughter) Bright yellows, oranges, and blues. Imagine vibrant sunflowers, cheerful balloons, and whimsical patterns.
  • Karuna (Sorrow). Deep blues, grays, and purples. Picture stormy skies, heavy rain, and somber landscapes.
  • Raudra (Anger). Fiery reds, oranges, and blacks. Visualize erupting volcanoes, raging fires, and fierce warriors.
  • Veera (Heroism) Bold greens, blues, and golds.  Envision majestic mountains, roaring oceans, and mighty forests.
  • Bhayanaka (Fear). Dark blues, grays, and blacks.  Think of looming shadows, eerie fog, and haunting silhouettes.
  • Bibhatsa (Disgust). Sickly greens, browns, and grays.  Imagine decaying flesh, rotting food, and putrid smells.
  • Adbhuta (Wonder): Bright purples, blues, and pinks. Picture dazzling fireworks, shimmering galaxies, and magical rainbows.
  • Shanta (Peace). Soft greens, blues, and whites.  Visualize serene lakes, tranquil forests, and gentle breezes.

When contemplating an aesthetic art style, consider blending elements of abstraction and realism using traditional and digital formats. Experiment with mixed-media techniques, textures, and colors to capture the essence of each rasa.

The ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans all had highly developed artistic traditions, with works ranging from sculpture and architecture to pottery and mosaics. The Middle Ages saw the rise of Christian art, with iconic examples like the illuminated manuscripts of the Book of Kells and the stained glass windows of Gothic cathedrals. The Renaissance: From 14th to 17th centuries, revived classical art and humanism, inspiring masterpieces by Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. The 19th century saw the springing up of Romanticism, with artists like Eugene Delacroix and Francisco Goya exploring themes of emotion and individualism. The Impressionist movement, led by artists like Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, focused on capturing the fleeting effects of light and color. The 20th century saw a proliferation of art movements, from Cubism and Surrealism to Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art. Artists like Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Jackson Pollock, and Andy Warhol pushed the boundaries of art and challenged traditional notions of beauty and aesthetics.
